If you are frustrated, overwhelmed, and tired of listening to EVERYONE tell you how great college is,
I'll guarantee it's because you are not looking at the right colleges.
However, if you want to find the right college, we have to
quit looking at everyone else's college
and
FIND YOUR COLLEGE.
Just promise me you'll pick a college for a better reason than I did...
You keep getting college brochures and you hate them all!
You don't even want to look at another school's brochure, But everyday it's the "same old same old". You go to your mailbox and it's packed full of MORE college brochures! Their unwanted college messages are taking over your life! You hate talking to your friends because their eyes twinkle every time they talk about the perfect school they've found! You keep arguing with your parents and you just can't figure out WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME! WOULD SOMEONE FIND A COLLEGE FOR ME! So you searched the internet and found this site and all you want is someone that is going to say,“it will be OK”
I'm not going to do that! No way. I hate "OK" – I want you to find the right college. I want you to look at your friends and have that same goofy glow when you talk about YOUR perfect college. I want you to be excited about picking out curtains for your dorm. I want you to look forward to cafeteria food (watch out for the freshman 15… by the way it's really more like the freshman 30). I want you to find the right college. I want you to feel prepared. I want you to feel organized and most important I want you to feel confident! Just an FYI, I worked in college admissions for five years as an Admissions Counselor and rarely did I meet a student that I could look at and didn't know whether or not they were picking my college.
It's time for us to find YOUR perfect college!
It's time for the gross, ugly, stressed out, frustrated, don't know where to start, pressure to go away. You are looking at spending a lot of money and right now... all you can show for it is an argument with your mom?
Quit yelling… quit slamming doors… and by all means quit putting this off. I need you to start over and let me help you though the mysterious college admission process. Take a deep breath and get ready to jump in, we've got to jump in, if we tip toe in, it will only make our decision harder. Honestly, just like ripping off a bandage, we have got to jump in now! Delaying the college admission process really makes your life worse. You'll miss scholarship deadlines and housing deadlines and, wow, it gets bad. The stress you are feeling now will seem like nothing! So we have got to get this figured out RIGHT NOW.
Who is responsible for all this stress? Oh yeah, it's the admission office. They love to do this to you. They come to your school or maybe you see them on your campus visit, and they're all nice and like “don't be afraid to ask for help.” That is so smart aleck code for "we know you don't have a clue!" And their “you look a little exhausted, did you drive a long way this morning?” oh yeah, that translates to, “you look completely stressed out and overwhelmed!” Then they bring you cookies and they are all warm and fuzzy. And BOOM – it's 20 random questions, “What do you want to study?”, “What clubs do you want to join?” “Do you want to live in a dorm?” “Have you heard about our scholarships?” Seriously, all you want is another cookie and you REALLY want your dad to quit talking to them! – Seriously, did he have to bring up the booger story from when you were seven? Why is everyone so happy and laughing? If I wanted help I'd ask for it! WAIT! I DO WANT HELP. I just don't have a clue what I'm suppose to ask for!!!
There is nothing worse than knowing you need
"something" but not knowing what that "something" is!
Choosing a college is your SOMETHING.
You need help choosing a college.
You need help figuring out what it is you are looking for in your college. You've been listening to your mom, dad, relatives, teachers, bosses, neighbors and they all seemed to figure it out "back in the day." Here's a piece of advice.
Quit looking at their colleges
and START LOOKING FOR YOUR COLLEGE!
Quit letting them do this! You must take control of your college decision process.
"Find A College for Me" is exactly what it says. Together we sort through all of the messages you are receiving to find the perfect school for you. It's not going to be the perfect school for your Aunt Jenny, she's not the one going to school, you are – therefore you need to start looking for YOUR perfect school! You need to have that excited feeling and twinkling eye syndrome that all of your friends have. I'll tell you this, your college is easy to find, once you figure out what you are looking for in a college. It's such a relief when you approach the college admissions process from a different angle, that would be my angle! This is not a multiple choice test. It's really much more like an essay test. You've got to form your thoughts and write! However, in college admissions you form your thoughts and decide! What a wonderful feeling to pick a college based on what you are looking for INSTEAD of picking it because it was the only one on your list you didn't cross off. College Admissions is a problem you can solve all we need to do is “Get Yourself Organized and Find the Right College .”

College admissions is that necessary process you have to go through to find the perfect college. Once you figure out what you are looking for in a college it is easy to find it. After you figure it out -- You may have the problem of choosing between three great colleges! But it will be worth it. Imagine how happy you will be when you wake up in your dorm. Imagine how cool it will be to have an awesome roommate! It's going to be perfect! The cool air rustling the leaves as you walk to class, the whole time thinking about all the fun you are going to have over the weekend with your new college friends. Suddenly you are going to be able to come and go as you please, no need to check in with mom and dad about staying out late! This is what we're working for and college admissions is the process to get you to your NEW college life! It's waiting for you! If you want the college dream, let's get going... no more waiting... now is the time to "Get Yourself Organized and Find the Right College".
